Ethics and Editorial Policies

Interdisciplinary Journal of Nursing and Health (IJNH) adheres to the ethical standards recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and the Council of Science Editors (CSE). All submitted manuscripts must meet the highest standards of scientific integrity, transparency, and responsible research conduct.

Authors submitting manuscripts to IJNH must ensure that their work complies with internationally recognized ethical standards, including those related to authorship, conflicts of interest, research involving human participants or animals, data integrity, and responsible reporting.

Detailed information regarding ethical requirements, research integrity, editorial procedures, and the management of potential misconduct is available on the Editorial Policies page. Authors are strongly encouraged to review these policies before submitting their manuscript.

Peer Review

All manuscripts submitted to the Interdisciplinary Journal of Nursing and Health (IJNH) undergo a rigorous editorial and peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Following an initial technical screening by the Editorial Office, submissions are assessed by the Editor-in-Chief for suitability with the journal’s aims and scope. Manuscripts that meet these criteria are sent for double-anonymous peer review, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Each manuscript is typically evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers assess the originality, methodological soundness, clarity of reporting, ethical compliance, and overall contribution of the manuscript. The journal may invite additional reviewers when necessary.

Based on the reviewers’ reports and the authors’ responses during revision, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final editorial decision, which may include acceptance, minor or major revision, resubmission for review, or rejection. Detailed information about the journal’s peer-review procedures and reviewer responsibilities is available on the Guidelines for Reviewers page.

Title Page

The title page must include:

  • Full manuscript title
  • Authors’ names, affiliations (Department, Institution, City, Country), and ORCID iDs
  • Corresponding author’s email
  • Funding and conflict-of-interest statements

Abstract and Structured Abstract

Abstracts must be structured according to the type of study, following the indications provided below. Provide 4–6 keywords, possibly from MeSH terms.

Key Findings

Authors are required to provide a “Key Findings” section consisting of 3 concise bullet points that highlight the essential contributions of the manuscript. The Key Findings must reflect the manuscript’s original contributions rather than restating the abstract. The first Key Finding must explicitly identify the disciplines, professional groups, or fields of study that may benefit from the paper. This helps contextualize the potential impact and clarifies how the work contributes to cross

Units and Nomenclature

Use SI units consistently and define all abbreviations upon first use.

Research Data

When possible, datasets should be deposited in FAIR-compliant repositories. Manuscripts must include:

  • A Data Availability Statement
  • Links to datasets, software, or supplementary materials (DOIs, accession numbers)
  • The journal ensures long-term preservation of published content through recognized digital archiving systems. For details, see the Archiving Policy page

Submitting Your Manuscript

All manuscripts are submitted through the Interdisciplinary Journal of Nursing and Health (IJNH) online submission system
Include: cover letter, abstract, anonymized manuscript, title page, figures, tables, and supplementary files.
