NEU è una rivista scientifica internazionale peer-reviewed focalizzata sulla relazione tra neuroscienze e assistenza infermieristica. Promuove la ricerca basata sulle evidenze e un approccio olistico alla salute cerebrale, al benessere mentale e all’interazione corpo–cervello. La rivista accoglie studi originali, revisioni e contributi teorici che esplorano l’impatto dell’assistenza infermieristica e degli stili di vita sugli esiti neurologici e psicologici. Attraverso la diffusione in open access, NEU sostiene lo scambio scientifico e l’avanzamento delle conoscenze nelle neuroscienze infermieristiche.

“Driven by a need for renewal and by the necessity to reorganize, within a new daily practice, the many and often confused scientific, cultural, and political voices that in recent years have come from various quarters urging the healthcare professions, we felt it was right to give a concrete sign of the vitality of our association also through a journal renewed in both form and content.
If, at its first appearance in 1976, the journal represented a point of arrival and affirmation of a discipline that had emerged from its pioneering phase, its renewal seeks to express the desire to achieve a qualitative leap in our professional role as neurosurgical nurses and the need to affirm a specific and independent professional identity which, alongside physicians and all healthcare personnel, contributes to the preservation and restoration of health through its own methodologies, competencies, and responsibilities.
To our colleagues. We begin our associative life and the periodic publication of our journal Neurosurgical Nursing by extending our warmest greetings to all members, and to all those whom we hope will become members. The birth of Neurosurgical Nursing was particularly difficult, also and above all because of our editorial inexperience; for this reason, unfortunately, the journal is still being published later than the cover date. Nevertheless, we count on your understanding, while committing ourselves to continually improving both the scientific-educational content and the editorial presentation, confident that we can also hope for your collaboration. In particular, we ask you to send us material on nursing care; material that will be duly reviewed, possibly revised, and published as appropriate. In this second issue, we publish the association’s statute so that all of you may become familiar with the rules governing the association’s activities and the goals it aims to achieve. You may thus bring it to the attention of other colleagues so that they too may join our initiative; they will be welcome in our association.” (Neurosurgical Nursing, vol. 1, 1976)
Neu is the official journal of the National Association of Neuroscience Nurses (ANIN) and publishes, subject to approval by the Editorial Committee, articles relating to the various roles and fields of general, clinical, and pediatric nursing sciences in the neurosciences, particularly within neurology, neurosurgery, neurorehabilitation, and psychiatry. Preference is given to nursing research articles aimed at informing, updating, and comparing best clinical practices, as well as enhancing, encouraging discussion, and disseminating projects and field experiences.
Neu follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process and represents a fundamental resource for healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry leaders committed to improving the prevention, treatment, and nursing management across all areas of the neurosciences.
