International Journal of Health Supplements (IJHS) is an international scholarly journal dedicated to the dissemination and long-term preservation of scientific outputs presented at conferences, symposia, and professional meetings across medicine and healthcare. The Journal provides a trusted and citable platform for publishing conference proceedings, thematic supplements, and abstract collections, ensuring global visibility, accessibility, and integration into the scholarly record.
IJHS particularly welcomes supplements developed in collaboration with scientific societies, conference organizers, and expert groups, aimed at documenting and contextualizing research presented at professional gatherings. The Journal also supports the publication of consensus statements, methodological papers, educational content, and invited review articles developed within the framework of thematic or conference-related initiatives.
Editorial Review Process
All submissions to the International Journal of Health Supplements are subject to an editorial review and scientific oversight process appropriate to the nature of the submitted material.
For conference proceedings and abstract collections, scientific responsibility for the content rests with the authors and the scientific committees of the originating events. These materials are reviewed and approved within the framework of the respective scientific meetings and are published under the oversight of the Journal’s Editorial Office.
External expert review may be applied selectively to invited review articles, consensus and position papers, methodological contributions, and educational content included within thematic supplements, when deemed appropriate by the Editorial Office.
Editorial Policies
The Journal applies the following editorial principles:
- initial editorial screening to assess scope, relevance, completeness, and compliance with Journal policies
- editorial coordination with guest editors and scientific committees for conference-related content
- efficient editorial workflows designed to ensure timely publication
Submissions that do not meet the Journal’s editorial or ethical requirements may be returned to the authors or declined without further review.
Topics
IJHS publishes materials of professional and scientific interest covering all areas of medicine and healthcare, including clinical medicine, surgery, nursing, public health, biomedical sciences, healthcare policy, and emerging health technologies. The Journal aims to preserve and disseminate the scholarly outputs of scientific events, promote excellence in healthcare research and practice, and encourage international exchange of knowledge and ideas.
All submissions must be written in clear, accurate English. Authors are responsible for ensuring appropriate language editing prior to submission.
Submission Guidelines
Submission System and File Format
All materials must be submitted through the Journal’s online submission system in Microsoft Word format.
Each submission must include the following files:
1. Cover Letter
A letter signed by the supplement coordinator, guest editor, or congress organizer, describing the scope and relevance of the collection and confirming that the submitted materials are original and have not been previously published.
2. Title Page
A separate document including:
- title of the supplement or proceedings
- names and affiliations of guest editors
- corresponding editor contact information
- institutional affiliations
- conflict of interest
- fundings
3. Main Document (named “MANUSCRIPT”)
The main file should include abstracts and/or full texts organized according to the agreed structure. For abstracts, a structured format (e.g. Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion) is recommended. Figures and tables should be embedded in the text at appropriate locations.
4. Graphical Abstract (optional)
A visual summary of the supplement’s content. Design support may be provided by the Editorial Office upon request.
Revised Submissions
For revised submissions, authors or guest editors must upload:
- a revised manuscript file named “MANUSCRIPT_REVISED”
- a detailed point-by-point response to editorial comments
All changes should be clearly highlighted in the revised manuscript.
Types of Contributions
All submissions must be in English and must fall within the scope of conference-related or thematic scientific initiatives.

Conference Proceedings
Collections of abstracts or extended abstracts originating from scientific meetings. Abstracts should not exceed 300 words and should follow a structured format where applicable. -
Thematic Supplements
Collections of invited articles, reviews, consensus papers, or expert contributions addressing a defined healthcare theme. Scope and structure are agreed in advance with the Editorial Office. -
Abstract Collections
Selected abstracts from workshops, symposia, or thematic sessions. -
Consensus and Position Papers
Official statements or recommendations developed by scientific societies or expert panels. Manuscripts must describe the methodology used to achieve consensus. -
Invited Review Articles within Thematic Supplements
Narrative or systematic reviews commissioned by the Editorial Office or guest editors and published exclusively as part of thematic supplements. -
Brief Reports
Concise reports highlighting preliminary findings or notable case experiences presented at scientific meetings. Maximum 3,000 words with a 150-word abstract. -
Editorials and Prefaces
Introductory or overview articles providing context for supplements or proceedings. -
Meeting and Congress Reports
Narrative summaries of scientific meetings highlighting key themes and outcomes. -
Workshop and Round Table Reports
Summaries of focused discussion sessions conducted within scientific meetings. -
Methodological and Study Design Papers
Descriptions of study designs, protocols, registries, or methodological frameworks presented at scientific events. -
Educational and Practice-Oriented Content
Educational articles or expert perspectives developed within the context of conferences or scientific society activities. -
Letters to the Editor
Short communications related to material previously published in IJHS (maximum 500 words and five references).
Authorship
Authors must provide:
- full names and academic titles
- institutional affiliations
- email address
- ORCID iD (strongly encouraged)
The corresponding author must clearly indicate each author’s contribution.
Manuscript Preparation
Titles should be concise and informative.
Keywords (4–10) should be provided; MeSH terms are recommended where applicable.
Figures and Tables
- figures: high-resolution (minimum 300 dpi)

References
References must follow AMA (Vancouver) style.
Supplementary Material
Supplementary files may be submitted and will be published online as provided by the authors.
