Interdisciplinary Journal of Nursing and Health (eISSN 3103-537X) is a continuation of Infermieristica Journal (eISSN 2785-7018).
Interdisciplinary Journal of Nursing and Health (IJNH) is an international, double-anonymous peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal dedicated to advancing rigorous and globally relevant scholarship in nursing and health sciences. IJNH promotes the development, integration, and exchange of knowledge that informs nursing research, clinical practice, and health policy. The journal supports evidence-based practice and fosters critical debate on contemporary issues related to the art and science of nursing.
IJNH particularly welcomes studies that seek to evaluate and understand complex health care interventions, health systems, and health policies, using the most rigorous and appropriate research designs. The journal also aims to strengthen the methodological quality of health research by publishing high-quality methodological papers that introduce or refine analytic approaches, measurements, or research methods. All submissions undergo double-anonymized peer review, and IJNH publishes original contributions of relevance to the international health care community.
IJNH is a fully open-access journal, accessible to readers worldwide without subscription or publication fees. The journal is published in English. A limited print edition may be ordered through an annual crowdfunding initiative, which directly supports production costs and scientific dissemination projects. IJNH is published by the editorial group iEditore, publisher of the predecessor title, Infermieristica Journal.
The editorial policies of Interdisciplinary Journal of Nursing and Health include:
- Rapid initial screening for suitability and editorial interest
- Efficient editorial workflows, with an average time from submission to first decision of approximately 12 weeks
- Just Accepted Manuscripts, published online immediately after acceptance
- Indexing in scientific databases, supporting broad discoverability of published research
Interdisciplinary Journal of Nursing and Health (IJNH) is carried forward by an international editorial team of nurses representing diverse areas of the profession. Its global orientation offers an appropriate forum for the dissemination and exchange of research findings, experiences, and innovative ideas. IJNH promotes interdisciplinary collaboration across health-related fields, recognizing its essential role in advancing comprehensive understanding of complex care settings. The journal’s audience includes nurses, clinicians, educators, administrators, researchers, and professionals engaged in all areas of nursing and health sciences.
External Rigorous Peer-Review
Each submission to the Interdisciplinary Journal of Nursing and Health undergoes rigorous quality control and an external peer-review evaluation before a final editorial decision is made. The initial in-house assessment addresses issues such as competing interests, ethical compliance for studies involving human participants or animals, financial disclosures, adherence to IJNH’s data availability requirements, and overall suitability for the journal’s scope and standards.
Manuscripts deemed appropriate for further consideration are sent to at least two external, independent reviewers, following a double-blind peer-review process in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. If the reviews are positive but revisions are required, authors are invited to submit a revised manuscript that addresses the reviewers’ and editors’ comments.
To ensure the originality and integrity of the scientific record, all submissions undergo plagiarism screening using Crossref Similarity Check (iThenticate). The Editors oversee the entire peer-review process and hold full responsibility for the final decision on each manuscript.
