Abstract

Rehabilitation robots are perceived effective in reducing motor deficits but limitations of their ability to improve real world functions still exist. Improvements may be achieved by attractive training environment, complex motor problem solving approach, improved motor learning, nervous system neuroplasticity stimulation, feedback-controlled motivation and better functional task engagement. Novel strategies described in this article help familiarize with current limitations of rehabilitation robots and attempts to overcome them.
