Abstract
Background. This study is devoted to the subject of rehabilitation treatment after hip joint replacement. Objectives. This study shows an evaluations of the results of therapeutic rehabilitation after hip joint alloplasty. Material and methods. The examination were carried out on the group of 20 persons, who were qualified to implant cement-free hip joint endoprothesis. The clinical estimation was carried out a few days before the surgery, on the 4th day, on the 14th day and 8 weeks after surgery. The evaluation of the results of therapeutic rehabilitation based on the Harris Hip Score and the functional tests. Results. After eight weeks of treatment we achieved the median value of Harris Hip Score rated on 80.12 ± 5.46 points, the level of pain rated on 42.0 ± 4.35 points, functionality rated on 29.4 ± 2.19 points, ranges of movements rated on 4.72 ± 0.02 points, and the time required to move the scheduled distance on flat ground was averaged on 00:15:24 ± 00:05:09 (mm:ss:msms) and after stairs on 00:14:41 ± 00:05:34 (mm:ss:msms). Analysis of the results allowed to come to the conclusion that the physiotherapy helps reduce pain, improve the functionality of the operated hip joint by increasing range of motion, improve the ability of locomotion and overall efficiency of patient comfort and quality of life. Conclusions. 1. Applied rehabilitation has greatly contributed to the reduction of pain. 2. Systematic rehabilitation treatment greatly increases the range of motion of the operated joint, improves physical fitness, locomotion and quality of life.References
