Journal of Nursing in Infection Prevention and Control (JNIPC) aims to advance nursing knowledge, clinical practice, education, and healthcare policy in infection prevention and control by promoting research that:
- Strengthens the contribution of nursing professionals and infection prevention specialists to the prevention and management of infectious risks
- Advances knowledge on healthcare-associated infections, infection surveillance, outbreak prevention and management, and patient and healthcare worker safety
- Promotes evidence-based practices, implementation science, quality improvement, and organizational innovation in infection prevention and control
- Examines antimicrobial stewardship, antimicrobial resistance, appropriate use of infection-control measures, and multidisciplinary approaches to infectious risk management
- Supports the development and evaluation of education, training, leadership, professional competencies, and clinical decision-making in infection prevention and control
- Investigates infection prevention and control across hospitals, primary care, community services, long-term care facilities, residential settings, home care, and other health and social care environments
- Integrates quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, epidemiological, and implementation research approaches appropriate to complex healthcare settings
- Demonstrates clear implications for clinical practice, quality of care, healthcare outcomes, organizational processes, and health policy
JNIPC welcomes original research articles, reviews, brief reports, and commentaries addressing scientific, clinical, organizational, educational, ethical, and policy-related aspects of infection prevention and control. Contributions should be relevant to nursing practice and may adopt interdisciplinary and interprofessional perspectives.
