Journal of Nursing in Infection Prevention and Control (JNIPC) is a fully open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal and the official publication of the ANIPIO Scientific Society.
All articles published by JNIPC are made freely, immediately, and permanently available online upon publication, without subscription barriers, registration requirements, pay-per-view charges, or embargo periods.
Readers may access, read, download, copy, print, search, link to, share, and lawfully reuse published articles in accordance with the Creative Commons licence displayed with each article.
Publication and Access Fees
During its initial launch phase, JNIPC operates according to a diamond open-access model. Authors are not charged for submitting, reviewing, processing, or publishing their manuscripts, and readers may access all published content free of charge.
During this phase, the Journal does not charge:
- article processing charges;
- submission fees;
- publication fees;
- page or article-length charges;
- colour figure charges;
- supplementary material fees;
- subscription fees;
- pay-per-view or individual-access charges.
Any future introduction of article processing charges, submission fees, or other publication-related charges may occur only following a formal agreement between ANIPIO and iEditore.
Any such change will be communicated transparently on the Journal website and within the submission system before it becomes applicable. Publication charges, where introduced, will not influence editorial screening, peer review, acceptance, rejection, or any other scientific decision.
Articles already published will remain openly accessible under the licence stated at the time of publication.
Copyright and Publication Rights
Authors retain copyright in their articles.
By submitting an accepted manuscript for publication, authors authorize the Editor-in-Chief and, through the Editor-in-Chief, iEditore to publish, reproduce, distribute, communicate, preserve, archive, index, and make the article openly available in digital and, where applicable, printed formats.
This authorization includes the rights necessary to:
- publish the article on the JNIPC website and through iEditore Journals;
- produce and distribute the final PDF, HTML, XML, metadata, and other publication formats;
- register and maintain the article’s Digital Object Identifier and associated metadata;
- deposit metadata and content with indexing, discovery, preservation, and archiving services;
- preserve and continue to provide access to the published scholarly record;
- promote and disseminate the article through scholarly and institutional communication channels.
Authors retain their moral rights to the extent recognized by applicable law, including the right to be identified as the creators of the work and to object to uses that misrepresent their contribution.
Creative Commons Licence
Unless a different licence is expressly indicated in the published article, scholarly articles published by JNIPC are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0) .
The CC BY 4.0 licence permits readers and other users to copy, share, distribute, display, reproduce, adapt, translate, and reuse the article in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, provided that:
- appropriate credit is given to the author or authors;
- the original publication in JNIPC is properly cited;
- the article’s DOI or permanent journal link is included where reasonably possible;
- a link to the CC BY 4.0 licence is provided;
- any modifications, translations, adaptations, or derivative works are clearly identified;
- no additional legal or technological restrictions are imposed that would prevent uses permitted by the licence.
Reuse must not imply endorsement by the authors, ANIPIO, the Editors, JNIPC, or iEditore.
Users must not present an adapted, translated, or modified version as the unaltered Version of Record.
Copyright Notice
Each published article will display a copyright and licensing notice identifying the authors as copyright holders and iEditore as the publisher.
The notice will normally follow this format:
© [Year] [Author name(s)]. Open-access article published by iEditore under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).
Self-Archiving
JNIPC permits authors to deposit and share the following versions of their manuscript without embargo:
- the submitted manuscript prior to peer review;
- the accepted manuscript following peer review;
- the published Version of Record.
Authors may deposit these versions in:
- institutional repositories;
- disciplinary or subject repositories;
- research funder repositories;
- personal or institutional academic webpages;
- non-exclusive scholarly sharing platforms.
Deposited versions must be clearly identified. Whenever the Version of Record is available, repository records should include:
- the complete article citation;
- the Digital Object Identifier;
- a direct link to the article on the JNIPC website;
- the applicable CC BY 4.0 licence statement.
Repository deposit must not create confusion regarding which version constitutes the authoritative Version of Record.
Institutional and Funder Open-Access Requirements
Authors may comply with institutional, governmental, or research-funder open-access mandates by depositing the submitted, accepted, or published version of their article in an appropriate repository.
Authors remain responsible for ensuring that any repository deposit complies with the requirements of their institution, funding body, research agreement, and the applicable Creative Commons licence.
Third-Party Material
The Creative Commons licence applies only to material for which the authors, Journal, or Publisher are legally entitled to grant that licence.
Figures, tables, photographs, illustrations, scales, instruments, questionnaires, datasets, software, maps, audiovisual materials, and other third-party content may be subject to separate:
- copyright restrictions;
- licensing conditions;
- privacy or confidentiality requirements;
- publication-consent requirements;
- contractual or proprietary restrictions.
Material that is not included under the article’s Creative Commons licence must be clearly identified through an appropriate credit line, figure legend, table note, copyright notice, or accompanying statement.
Authors are responsible for obtaining all permissions required to reproduce, adapt, translate, or publish third-party material before submission and publication.
Permission documentation must be provided to the Editorial Office when requested. Any costs associated with obtaining third-party permissions remain the responsibility of the authors.
Journal Identity, Logos, and Publisher Materials
The CC BY 4.0 licence applied to scholarly articles does not automatically apply to the Journal title, subtitle, logos, trademarks, graphic identity, website design, editorial layout, platform components, or other identifying and publisher-created materials.
The title, logo, graphic identity, and identifying elements of JNIPC may not be reproduced or used in a manner that suggests affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or official publication without appropriate authorization.
Any material carrying a different copyright or licensing notice is governed by the terms stated specifically for that material.
Preprints and Prior Dissemination
Previous deposit of a manuscript on a recognized preprint server, institutional repository, research repository, or personal academic webpage does not normally prevent submission to JNIPC.
Authors must disclose all relevant prior dissemination at the time of submission and provide the corresponding DOI, URL, citation, or other permanent identifier where available.
Authors must also disclose whether the work, or a substantial part of it, has previously appeared as:
- a conference abstract or proceeding;
- a poster or oral presentation;
- an institutional or technical report;
- a thesis or dissertation;
- a publicly available protocol;
- another form of prior scholarly dissemination.
Prior dissemination must not infringe third-party rights or constitute undisclosed duplicate publication.
Following publication, authors are encouraged to update preprint and repository records with the complete citation, DOI, and direct link to the published Version of Record.
Long-Term Access and Preservation
JNIPC and iEditore are committed to maintaining long-term access to published articles and their bibliographic metadata.
Published content may be deposited in digital preservation, legal-deposit, indexing, metadata-registration, and scholarly-discovery infrastructures used by iEditore.
The continued validity of assigned Digital Object Identifiers and the preservation of the scholarly record will be maintained in accordance with the Journal’s Archiving Policy and the applicable procedures of the registration and preservation services used by the Publisher.
